Good to know
Questions, answered plainly
The things people most often want to know before booking a move — coverage, quotes, riverside-flat access, packing, storage and the run into Europe. If yours isn’t here, just ask.
Moving in Woolwich & SE London
Which areas do you cover?
Woolwich (SE18) is home, and we cover the surrounding SE-London area: Plumstead, Thamesmead (SE28), Charlton (SE7), Abbey Wood and Eltham (SE9), plus the streets in between and just over the borough boundary.
Do you move flats in the Royal Arsenal Riverside blocks?
Often. These developments have lifts, loading bays and concierge desks, and most ask you to book a moving slot and protect the shared areas. We handle that — booking the lift and bay, laying protection, and timing the van so it isn’t sitting where it shouldn’t.
Can you deal with the parking and access around Powis Street?
Yes. The town centre around Powis Street and General Gordon Square has one-way sections, bus routes and restricted stopping. We plan where the van goes and how we carry to it, so loading stays legal and quick rather than a scramble on the day.
What about the steep streets in Plumstead?
They’re part of the patch, so they’re part of the plan. Some of the roads climbing towards Plumstead Common are steep and narrow, so we bring a van that suits the street and enough hands for the carry rather than forcing a large lorry up a hill it won’t like.
Do you move to and from North Woolwich?
Yes — across the river via the Woolwich Ferry or the tunnels. North Woolwich and the Royal Docks side are an easy hop, and we plan the crossing into the day so it doesn’t hold the move up.
Services, packing & storage
What’s included in a home removal?
A survey before the day for anything but the smallest move, protection for your furniture and floors, dismantling and reassembly of beds and wardrobes, and careful loading and setting-down at the new place. Packing, storage and unpacking can be added — you choose the level.
Can you provide storage in Woolwich?
Yes — clean, dry, secure storage for a few boxes or a whole home. We take a full inventory as your things go in, and we can fold a move-and-store into one booking with one team, which helps when the dates between homes don’t quite meet.
Do you supply packing materials?
We supply quality cartons, wrapping and protection, and we can pack the whole home, just the fragile items, or leave you to it with the right boxes to hand. Everything we pack goes on a labelled inventory.
Can you move an office or business?
Yes. We plan commercial moves around your trading hours — out of hours or at the weekend where it helps — handle IT, desks and equipment, offer crate hire, and can store surplus furniture and records. The aim is to keep any downtime short.
Do you take away rubbish or unwanted items?
We can help with clearance as part of a move — the odd unwanted item or a load left after you’ve gone. Tell us what’s involved when you ask for a quote and we’ll fold it into the plan.
European & international moves
Do you move from Woolwich to Europe?
We run household moves that depart from Woolwich and SE London to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Each is framed as a route pair — from your address here to the new one abroad — and one team stays with the move from collection to delivery.
How does customs work after Brexit?
For personal belongings going to a new home in the EU there’s a recognised process, and we prepare the paperwork — the inventory and the transit and customs documents — as part of the move. You won’t be left to work it out at a border.
Can you take a part-load rather than a whole van?
Yes. If you’re not filling a lorry, a shared load — your goods consolidated with other moves heading the same way — is often the sensible option. A dedicated load runs to your own schedule. We’ll explain which suits what you’re moving.
Which UK cities can you collect from for a European move?
While Woolwich is home, the European routes we run also pick up from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh along the way, so a move that starts near one of those can join the same corridor.
Quotes, timing & booking
How do I get a quote?
Send your details and a little about the move through the quote form and we’ll reply by email with a clear, written, no-obligation quote. For a larger home we’ll arrange a quick survey first so the figure is grounded in what’s really there.
How quickly will you get back to me?
Promptly — usually within a working day or two of receiving your details. If your move is time-sensitive, say so in the notes and we’ll prioritise it.
When should I book?
As early as you comfortably can, especially around the end of the week and the end of the month when the good slots go first. We’ll always try to help at shorter notice — just get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
Are my belongings covered?
Yes. Goods-in-transit and liability cover are part of how we work, and we set out the terms in writing with your quote so you know where you stand before anything is booked.

Still have a question?
If we haven’t covered it here, tell us in the notes when you ask for a quote — or drop us a line. We’d rather answer honestly than leave you guessing.
